Milan meets the East End at this Southampton staple (with sibs in the old country and Manhattan) that’s oh-so-Northern-Italian-chic-and-delicious with flavorful, authentic fare matched by excellent gelato and pastries. A vine-covered patio and a stand-up coffee bar bolster a euro vibe that wins over the social crowd.

Bobby Van’s restaurant is light and airy, with both indoor and outdoor dining options, while maintaining a quintessential steakhouse elements, such as a rich wood bar area that is well-stocked by the best in bartender expertise. The husband and wife team of Chris Boudouris and Sofia Crokos have taken over the space at 95 School Street that has had many incarnations, and are transforming it to an estiatorio. Greek chef Yanni Tobas will whip up classic dishes such as spanakopita, grilled octopus, and whole grilled fish.

In his long and illustrious career, the great chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten has cooked for many celebrities (including celebrity dogs!). Now, he can add cooking in the Hamptons to his already-impressive resume. Taking residence in a restored 1842 house that exudes Old Hamptons, this gorgeous Bridgehampton New American paints a farm-to-table masterpiece using locally sourced meats, seafood and produce from the site’s one-acre garden. Boasting an elegant interior and outdoor tables on the mansion’s wraparound porch, the experience is exceptional.

Lulu Kitchen & Bar, in the space formerly occupied by Doppio, is the newest addition to Marc Rowan’s growing restaurant group, which also includes Arbor and Duryea’s Lobster Dock, both in Montauk. Chef Philippe Corbet, who helmed the kitchen at Arbor last year, has designed the bistro-casual menu centered on a wood-burning grill and oven.

The “new Conca d’Oro.” Sag Pizza’s pizza is a northern-Italian, thin crust pizza. The crust is deliciously crunchy-chewy with big bubbles along the edge, mainly due to the wood oven it’s cooked in. The sauce is mild, rich and slightly sweet. Also, the entire décor and renovation of Sag Pizza is a success. The interior is gorgeous: clean, casual, and inviting.

Le Bilboquet Sag Harbor | 1 Long Wharf
New York’s signature French restaurant is opening in Sag Harbor. Known for its poulet Cajun, head here for a taste of the best French cuisine around and an even better, incredibly intimate atmosphere on the water.

In a shingled cottage on a leafy street in Sag Harbor directly facing the water, this little gem is the go-to Italian restaurant in the Hamptons. Offering alfresco dining and walks along the marina afterward but its really the food that keeps you wanting to go back for more! The pasta dishes are to die for and some favorites include the taglioni with bay scallops, shrimp, calamari, chili, and tomatoes!

Chef/Owners Lisa & Terry Harwood opened Vine Street Cafe in 2003. Located on South Ferry Road, just 1.5 miles from the South Ferry. Chef Terry works with area farmers, fishermen & vineyards and features their natural bounty on his seasonal menus. We make everything in house and Lisa's desserts, ice creams and fruit crisps are no exception. Recently, we opened a small market behind the restaurant. This is where you pick up take-out orders while stocking your home pantry. Specialty catering is available along with ready fresh meals such as meatballs, chicken salad, bread, smoked ribs, BBQ Sauce and a selection of artisan pastas. Reservations are highly recommended year round.

Open since 2011, this restaurant has become a year-round local staple, mainly due to the fact that it’s a departure from the bright, beach-y look that occupies most of the Hamptons. Plus, the food is just great, if admittedly indulgent: for one, the “Heavenly Biscuits” with rosemary, butter, and honey are hard to pass up.

East Hampton is getting an infusion of fresh Italian flavor, as Dopo La Spiaggia, which means "After the Beach" in Italian, opens its second location. With more than 3,000 square feet, the latest restaurant will feature southern Italian style cooking with locally sourced signature dishes and new specialty items on the menu. This location will be accepting same-day reservations.

Although it’s been a Montauk staple for decades, the buzz around Duryea’s has grown lately, thanks to a sleek makeover a couple of years ago. Instead of rustic picnic tables and a BYOB policy, there are now bottles of Provençal rosé, white banquettes, and clean-lined, bleached wood tables and chairs that create a setting that wouldn’t look out of place on Mykonos—especially with its waterside view of Fort Pond Bay. The steamed lobster and lobster rolls are a no-brainer, but also consider the perfectly grilled skirt steak, the small plates (baked cherrystone clams and steamers), the lobster club salad, and oysters from Orient Point, just across Gardiner’s Bay.
